In this Privacy Policy, "Persona" refers to the company responsible for providing the Persona assistant, and may be referred to as "we," "us," or "our." The Persona platform, tools, and assistant features are collectively referred to as the "Service."
At Persona, we take your privacy seriously. That's why we work hard to ensure that you are in control over the data we collect, how it is handled, and how it is stored. We believe that transparency builds trust, and trust is the foundation of everything we do. This Privacy Policy is designed to clearly and comprehensively explain the types of information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have to control your data.
Persona collects information to provide a seamless, intelligent assistant experience. We collect data in the following ways:
We use your data to provide a seamless and intelligent assistant experience. Specifically, we use it in the following ways:
Your data is stored on encrypted servers hosted in geographically appropriate regions using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256, and data in transit is protected using TLS 1.3. We implement strict access controls and audit logs to ensure only authorized personnel can access your data for permitted purposes.
We retain personal data only as long as it is necessary to provide the Service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. For example:
If you request account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, unless legal obligations require longer retention. You may also request specific deletion of certain data types through our support team.
You have full control over your information. You can view and export your data, disconnect services like Google Calendar or Gmail, delete your account, or request specific removals. You can do this from your dashboard or by contacting us. Persona does not penalize users for exercising their data rights.
We implement a security-first design. All user data is protected by multiple layers of encryption and access controls. We use third-party auditors to validate our security posture and follow the principle of least privilege internally. Our systems are monitored 24/7 for intrusion attempts or vulnerabilities.
Persona works with a minimal set of trusted service providers to operate and enhance the Service. These include cloud hosting providers such as AWS, communication tools like SendGrid for transactional emails, analytics tools to measure engagement, and integration partners like OpenAI (for natural language understanding, if enabled) and Google (for calendar and email features). All providers are bound by contractual obligations to handle your data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality and security terms. We do not allow third-party services to use your data for advertising or their own purposes.
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will continue to protect your information as outlined in this policy and notify you of any changes in ownership or data handling practices if required by law.
We may also disclose your personal data if required to do so by law, subpoena, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (a) comply with legal obligations, (b) protect and defend our rights or property, (c) prevent fraud, abuse, or other harmful activity, or (d) protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.
If you are accessing Persona from outside the United States, please note that your data may be processed and stored in the U.S. or in another country where our infrastructure is located. We follow global best practices and comply with cross-border data transfer laws including the GDPR and others where applicable.
Persona is not designed for or directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We honor all valid data subject requests in accordance with applicable law. This includes requests to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data. You may also object to certain types of processing or request data portability. To make a request, please contact us at privacy@usepersona.app. We may verify your identity before processing your request, and will respond within the timeframe required by law.
Our Service may contain links to external websites or services not operated by Persona. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal data. The inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Persona may use automated systems to make decisions based on your inputs or behavior, including scheduling suggestions or priority sorting. These processes are designed to enhance your experience and are regularly tested for fairness and accuracy. You have the right to request human intervention or contest an automated decision where required by law.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” feature. Our Service does not currently respond to these signals, as there is no consistent industry standard for compliance. However, we are committed to protecting your privacy and offer other mechanisms to control data usage, including cookie preferences and account settings.
We may occasionally revise this policy to reflect changes in our services or regulations. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date and provide notice via the app and email if the changes are significant. Your continued use of Persona means you accept the new terms.
You may have additional rights depending on where you live. These can include the right to know what data we have, to correct it, to delete it, to limit its use, and to request a portable copy. We comply with data laws such as the GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), and others where required.
If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints about this policy or our practices, please email us at privacy@usepersona.app. We respond to all requests within seven business days. For legal inquiries, please include "Privacy Request" in the subject line.
At Persona, we aren't just building a product—we're building trust.
